Charlie Chan's: Dark Alibi



A bank has been robbed. Can Charlie Chan help an innocent man?
The safe at Citizens State Bank has just been robbed and a guard has been murdered. Thomas Harley (Edward Earle) has falsely been accused of the crime. Even the best public defender, Anthony Morgan (John Eldredge), he was still sentenced. His daughter, June (Teala Loring), is upset. Her father only has 9 days left to live a normal life before he is sent to jail. He is innocent.
Charlie Chan (Sidney Toler) overhears Morgan and June talk about the case and he offers his services. Number One son, Tommy (Benson Fong) and Birmingham (Mantan Moreland) try to help on the case too.
Benjamin (Ben Carter) from Charlie Chan in The Scarlet Clue (1945) returns to talk to Birmingham.

Also in the cast: George Holmes, Joyce Compton, John Eldridge, Russell Hicks, Tim Ryan, Janet Shaw, Edward Earle, Anthony Warde.

This is Benson Fong's last appearance as "Tommy". However, he continued acting...
