Fun workout!! Great for the the core
I'm a personal trainer and a yoga instructor, so I've done a lot of different workouts. I was looking for something to break the same-old-same-old and this is it! If you love dance and yoga and want something new to motivate you, you will love this. Lots of flow that builds up to some fun dance sequences. Some of the movements are challenging, but just take your time and modify if you have knee, hip or ankle issues. I don't recommend putting your hands on your shins at the end when she asks you to "pump" up and down, too much stress on the knee, but just put your hands on the floor.
Beautiful to watch
I just finished doing this workout. I must first say that the music is wonderful. It is by Prem Joshua. It matches the movement perfectly. I especially liked the kundalini yoga chants. I watched the 20 minute tune-up section and then fast forwarded to the Temple Goddess workout (29:37). The Tune-up and the workout start off with the same exercises. The Tune-up has more exercises in the warm-up than the actual workout.
As others have said this is not an aerobic workout but more of a stretching, balancing workout. Would I do it again? Yes, but I would probably do the Tune-up and then fast forward to the workout section where the actual workout begins.
Fun Yoga and Indian Dance Video
The Temple Goddess Workout is exactly what I was looking for, a video that combined yoga and Indian dance. The music is really nice, Revital gives clear instructions, she starts out showing the moves slow, and then you add in the arms and hands movements. The only thing that I have changed is when she is doing squats with heels together, toes facing out, I have my feet shoulder width apart, making sure that my toes do not go past my knees. I am a weight lifter and have always done squats this way, if I don't, my knees will hurt. The video contains a warm up, a 20 minute workout, a 40 minute workout, and a cool down/stretch section. I bought this on Amazon streaming instead of buying the dvd. Because it is not a dvd, I cannot go to a menu and find each section. At around the 30 minute mark starts the 40 minute section. The Temple Goddess Workout can be aerobic, but I would not consider this a cardio workout.
It is a great addition to your cardio/weight lifting routine.
Highly...
